I'm Nicole Lee, senior associate editor for cnet.com, and this is a First Look at the RIM Blackberry Torch 9810 for T-Mobile. It's essentially T-Mobile's version of the same phone for AT&T. On the front of the display is a 3.2-inch VGA display. It's very bright, and sharp, and colorful thanks to Blackberry 7 OS's liquid graphics technology. Slide the phone open and you will reveal a full QWERTY keyboard. It's quite compact as you can see here, but the keys are a little bit raised and sloped above the surface for easy texting and dialing. Beneath the display you do get the usual Blackberry navigation array.

They consist of the send, end, power keys [unk] as well as the menu and back functions. In the middle of the array is an optical trackpad. You can use track, but in addition to the touchscreen, for more precise navigation. On the side of the phone, you do get the usual micro USB port. On the other side, you do get the volume rocker as well as the customizable shortcut key. On top of the phone is the screen lock key as well as a mute button. On the back of the phone is the 5-megapixel camera lens and LED flash.

The Torch 9810 ships with Blackberry 7 OS, which is Blackberry's latest operating system. The overall look and feel is very similar to OS 6. You get the usual multiple home screens and you can collapse and expand several trays. Other features of the phone include the usual GPS, bluetooth, and WiFi. The Torch 9810 also supports T-Mobile's 4G HSPA plus network.

The browser is quite speedy and supports HTML5 video On the whole, the Torch 9810 is a pretty good mid ranged phone for Blackberry enthusiasts. Quadrajet Indica Vista here.
